Swedish/Relaxation massage

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of massage performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by manipulating muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Details:

  • Increases circulation
  • Relaxes body and mind
  • Relief of muscle tension and stress

Fosters relaxation and improves sleep

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.  The movement is slower, and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.  Some soreness may occur after the massage. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury

Benefits:

  • Reduces Chronic Pain
  • Breaks Up Scar Tissue

Rehabilitates Injured

Pre-natal Massage

Pre-natal massage is similar to massage during non-pregnancy in terms of the goals (relaxation, pain relief, increased circulation & mobility, etc.). However, due to the changes undergone during pregnancy, modification are made. To accommodate swollen tender breasts and a growing belly; pillows, sidelying positioning and techniques are utilized to ensure comfort for both the expecting mother and baby. With increasing weight, a changing center of gravity and the many other changes associated with pregnancy, prenatal massage can help provide relief and a sense of well being that is much deserved.

Post-partum/Post-natal Massage

Postpartum Massage is similar to massage during non- pregnancy in terms of goals(Relaxation, Increased circulation and mobility.  The treatment is more targeted to treat external pelvic floor muscles or muscles that could be contributing to pelvic floor pain such as Gluteal muscular (maximus, medius, minimus, piriformis, obturator internus, gemellus superior and inferior, quadratus femoris) and others.  Before treatment begins, the therapist will discuss with you about the treatment plan and answer any questions/concerns you may have.

*Babies are welcome in the clinic. Pls bring a car seat for baby to rest in during treatment.
